The Yosemite Falls Hike
You can hike all around the beautiful Yosemite Falls! There’s many trails you can hike in this area, including an Upper Yosemite Falls hike (a strenuous, all-day hike meant only for experienced hikers) as well as a Lower Yosemite Falls hike (which is only 0.5 miles and still offers incredible views). While the Upper Yosemite Falls hike is a challenge, you’ll be rewarded by gorgeous panoramic views of the surrounding scenery. For an easier experience, you can take the 2-mile hike up to Columbia Rock where you can experience extraordinary views of the Yosemite Valley, Half Dome, and Sentinel Rock.
When to Visit Yosemite Falls
The Yosemite Falls Trail is open all year long, so you can visit anytime! However, the Yosemite Falls is best seen during the spring, when it contains extra volume from the melted snow of winter. By August, the falls are no more than a trickle of water. The trail becomes icy during winter, so keep in that in mind when planning your trip. Be sure to always check weather and trail conditions on the park’s website before you visit.
