| Here we are in our matching Hotel Charlotte tee
shirts. Regardless of our dress, we totally enjoyed this trip and it
is less than a 4 hour drive from Groveland. One night or two nights,
its a perfect getaway. As is Groveland for Lake Tahoeans. |
 |
| Highway 88 to 89 enjoys some very scenic views
including a handful of Alpine Lakes. |
 |
| A glass blower from the now defunct Bonanza Ranch
property. We hope these folks all found some where wonderful to
continue showcasing their unique talents. Artisans were abundant here,
each entertaining visitors throughout the day with their special
crafts. |
 |
| This is from the Bonanza Ranch which is now under
private ownership and no longer open to the public. We enjoyed our
visit here, especially the history of the place and the artisans that
plied their crafts for all to enjoy. |
 |
| Emerald Bay, one of the worlds top 25 most
photographed locations. It is immediately clear why. |
 |
| Once we looped Lake Tahoe, we returned to South Lake
Tahoe and the Heavenly Gondola for a summer ride to the top of the
hill. Do take the first stop for all your photos. It isn't the top of
the hill, but has perfect view points. The top of the hill is inset
and you can't see the lake. |
 |
| Also, when riding the gondola, do not go up with your
husband if he is child-like and will rock the car. The elevation is
not really extreme from the ground to the your cocoon car. It is that
the ground is at such
an angle that where it would finally
crash-stop if your infantile husband is successful in knocking it off
the cable IS quite a distance. |
 |
| Back to Emerald Bay, this time at the water level from
the paddle wheel boat where we signed up for the dinner cruise. |
 |
| Can you imagine living in this solitude? The beauty is
overwhelming and the remoteness is daunting. |
 |
| The colors of Lake Tahoe are very vivid from the rich
blue of the deep lake to the green of the trees and the dusty blue of
the sky. |
 |
| This is off the back of our boat on the way home with
the distant mountains fading away in the background. Really a nice
trip. |
