Dear Friends and Guests,
Winter struck last week with a bit of a high county snow storm closing off Tioga Pass for the season, the latest closing in 70 some years. Now, I know all of you who read this newsletter know that you can get to Yosemite and the Valley from this route in the winter, it doesn't matter that the pass is closed. Call 209-372-0200, Yosemite's information hotline, (1, 1) for roads & (1, 2) for weather. Usually there are no road restrictions, but you should always carry chains in your vehicle. The weather can change without much notice.
Holiday Gift Ideas

Winter Room Specials: 
This winter when you make an advance reservation, we will give you a complimentary room upgrade to our best available room at the time of check in. You must mention that you are a newsletter reader when you book your reservation. We can't guarantee that every night we will have one of the big rooms available when you check in, but if we do...its all yours!

Holiday Schedule:
The Holidays With Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year's Day falling on Monday or Tuesday, per our regular schedule, Thurs-Sunday nights, we aren't open. We are serving New Year's Eve dinner out at Camp Tuolumne Trails, a fundraiser. Dinner, Dancing & Fun with friends, neighbors and travlers. Recipe Research Trip: This year we leave on our research right after New Year's Eve and return just before Valentine's Day. We will be heading to Thailand for more cooking classes and hope to taste a little Laos and Cambodia styled meals too. The hotel remains open while we are gone with my parents holel-sitting. Stop in and say Hello to Marge & Jim. They really love it up here!
Valentine's Day Dinner, Thursday, February 14th
We reopen with our traditional Valentine's Day dinner, a special menu, soft lights, beautiful music and a room full of friends, neighbors and travelers all enjoying the romance. We will be serving a multi-coursed dinner with seatings from 5:00 to 9:00pm

· Caesar Salad or Tom Yum Poon Soup (shrimp-vegetable soup)
