Dear Friends and Guests,
With this edition of our monthy newsletter we start our 7th year at the Hotel Charlotte. It seems like only yesterday that we traversed the twisted Priest Grade for the first time...as we discovered this little gem of a hotel.

Groveland Mayor Race: Folks, Goose is in big trouble on this race--it couldn't be more serious! The dog truely has to win this year and has very ruthless competition. See what others are saying!

If you have a limited amount of donation funds available this year, consider some of these great reasons that the Goose For Mayor campaign is a worthy cause:

1. Goose's sponsor, Camp Tuolumne Trails, who receives the fundraising bit of the bribes is a wonderful program for kids with special needs and they very much need our help.

2. There is no better candidate from an ongoing marketing option to put Groveland on the map than having a dog for mayor.

3. The other candidates don't really want the job. They won't be doing anything but waving their "we won" flags. Goose plans to work his year as mayor contacting important politicians in Sacramento and DC on behalf of Groveland. The others will simply gloat in their winning, but put no effort into representing Groveland on a local, regional or national scale such as Goose promises to do.

4. Perhaps Victor or Lynn did something special for you, purchasing Goose for Mayor tickets would be a special way to say thank you. Maybe we picked you up from Yosemite when your car died, perhaps we drove you and your motorcycle to Jamestown Harley to get parts, maybe we took you to the airport, the hotel, the beach and back again to all those places. Maybe we "unofficially" baby sat your children or pets while you enjoyed the evening at the Iron Door Saloon. Oh, perhaps Victor makes your special dish that isn't on our menu every time you come, even if we are busy...because we like you! Maybe we donated to your own causes...We try very hard not to ask much from our friends, neighbors and guests, but this one we just can't pull off without your help.

With your help, we should be able to take back the lead (rumor has it that we are lagging by $2787) If everyone who reads this sends Goose's campaign $25, we stand a chance!

Coming up at the Charlotte: Quaffing the Coast! Our next wine dinner series with Sommelier Nicole Daraqc, both an entertainer and a winie-foodie. Guests may purchase season tickets for $250 pp for 5 dinners or $65 individually. Out of town guests can purchase the wine dinner and room for $229 per couple. 8/12 Honorary Mayor Stump Off #2. This one the candidates interview each other. Sounds like a great set up to me. Remember the TV show survivor? This is very much like that this year.
