Don't overlook our events
calendar, providing FUNtastic activities within an hour and a
half drive of Groveland. We have some new events this year that you might
want to plan your holiday around!

Now is the time to book your
Tuolumne River Rafting Trip!

Shari Pingree, our waitress, (on the right) was awarded the Golden
Nugget award this year by the Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau for her
excellence in customer service.

For 4th of July we took our
first crossing of Ebbets Pass, recently awarded federal Scenic
Byway status. And it was scenic and narrow, long and windy road,
but we were in no hurry and enjoyed ever bit, including this stop.

Dear Friends,
Well, here we are in the midst of our annual heat wave. This is a perfect
time to start making some of those mountain getaway plans for our cooler
fall time.
▫
An Aerial Tour of Yosemite: Victor
and I had an opportunity this last week to fly around in a tiny little plane
over Yosemite, thanks to Larry Jobe.
Instead of watching where we were going, I spent time taking pictures. Not
great ones, but the act of taking photos kept my mind off the fact that I
was flying around in a tiny little airplane.
▫
Groveland Art Stroll: Our final
Groveland Art Stroll of the season is scheduled for Sunday, September 3rd.
We will be hosting Art Quotient in the
Hotel Charlotte, Liz Reinhard will be doing a portrait demo of Kay Glaves at
the Groveland Hotel and we will have additional artists around town. This event
will also have the Kiwanis hosting a family fun day in Mary Laveroni
Community Park, with some of our artists displaying there too.
Come join us for strolling, shopping and chatting!
▫
49er Festival & Chili Cookoff:
This year Victor is giving thought to having 2 chili booths: one for
vegetarian and another in the meat category. This, after saying each year
will be the last! But the truth is, if it wasn't a blast, he wouldn't
do it. This is our longest weekend of the year as we are enjoying so many
places & events all day long, with the chili, the poker walks, the parade,
the judging and frolicking and then we all come back to the Charlotte to
open the restaurant for dinner. The energy is incredible!
Special
Events Our calendar of local events has
recently been updated to include fall happenings, including our October
Cabaret and November WineMakers dinner. Check your schedules, then give us a
call to hold your seats. This is a great tool to use to check what's
happening when you are coming.
