Dear Friends and Guests,
The hotel is quiet this time of year and the restaurant even more so with us off on our annual Recipe Research Trip. Having such great success with our Thai Thursdays last winter we have returned again to Thailand for more cooking classes at the Blue Elephant. You can follow along with our antics on the blog, linked to below. We are having a great time, but always look forward to our return when we can implement all the great ideas we come across.
Recipe Research Trip 2008
This year we have taken a laptop computer with us so I can stay in touch with the hotel and keep up the blog, www.RecipeResearch2008.blogspot.com. Follow along with us. I did not find an easy way to post photos and so used SnapFish which requires you to log in to view. Hong Kong, Macau & Bangkok Photos. We have found an added benefit to having the computer with us, we come home from our adventures and can look things we came across during the day over the internet. Great for researching where we are going next, how to find the bus terminal and so on. Very handy.
Winter Room Specials:
This winter when you make an advance reservation, we will give you a complimentary room upgrade to our best available room at the time of check in. You must mention that you are a newsletter reader when you book your reservation. We can't guarantee that every night we will have one of the big rooms available when you check in, but if we do...its all yours! A savings of $41-51 per night! Valid through March 13th.
Guest staying two or more weekday nights or three or more weekend nights will receive their Yosemite Pass for free. Be sure to mention this internet only special at point of reservation!

Valentine's Day Dinner, Thursday, February 14th
We reopen with our traditional Valentine's Day dinner, a special menu, soft lights, beautiful music and a room full of friends, neighbors and travelers all enjoying the romance. We will be serving a multi-coursed dinner with seatings from 5:00 to 9:00pm
· Crab Cocktail plate for two
· Caesar Salad or Tom Yum Poon Soup (shrimp-vegetable soup)
· Entrée Choices
- Chicken Cordon Bleu
- Spinach Ravioli (vegetarian)
- Rack of Lamb
- Kobe Flat Iron Steak

Surf & Turf it! Add Gigantic King Crab Legs to any choice
· Chocolate Mousse Crepes with fresh strawberry topping

If you can't make it in on Thursday, we will have this same menu available on Friday and Saturday as well. Prices range from $29.95 to $42.95. Out of town guests can add a room for just $98 more. PS: Beginning Thursday, February 21st, we will bring back our Thai Thursday menus with a multi-coursed meal with a starter (soup, salad or appetizer) rice or noodle dish, two hot selections, dessert and Thai iced tea for just $19.95. For non-Thai inspired diners we will also carry a selection of grilled items from our main menu. We look forward to welcoming you this winter!
